We have synthesized mid-infrared photonic crystals consisting of GeSn/Ge core/shell nanowires, combining e-beam lithography and VLS growth. Absorption spectra are tunable by changing the wire radius and spacing. We observed room temperature photocurrent spectra from the nanowire arrays at 1.4 µm to 2 µm wavelength.
