The incorporation of solar photovoltaic (PV) along with hydrogen storage within power distribution systems offers a promising solution to mitigate the intermittency in PV outputs and holds the potential to enhance the overall system operational efficiency. Reliability assessment is crucial to measure the influence of combined PV and hydrogen storage based PEM fuel cell system on the distribution networks. This paper proposes an innovative approach to assess the proportion of the load demand met by fuel cells during high demand periods and the level of grid reliance for a distribution system incorporating PV and hydrogen systems. The results demonstrate a considerable improvement in the newly proposed reliability indices for the sample distribution network demonstrating effectiveness of integrating the combined PV and fuel cell system.
