In this paper we present a scalable open-source modular Software Defined Radio (SDR) and propose a method of interference rejection testing in radio frequency identification (RFID) applications. The modular system supports several commercially available radio-frequency front-ends, and its Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) allows users to scale the device to fit their desired application. The advantage of our implementation of the RFID interference test is that it requires a single TX-RX RF frontend to generate the test stimuli. The SDR Interference Emulator capabilities are demonstrated by the measurement of the continuous wave interference rejection test of the RFID tag and compared with conventional measurement considering two independent generators.
