Overhead transmission lines (OTL) is an important part of power system, its design quality and safety have an important impact on the operation of the whole power system. In recent years, with the continuous growth of power demand and the continuous development of power technology, the design of OTL is facing more challenges. This paper mainly discusses some problems existing in the 3D-OTL design, and puts forward some solutions, including improving design accuracy, establishing unified standards, combining actual construction, promoting the use of advanced design software, strengthening communication and coordination with actual construction, and improving the accuracy and quality of 3D-OTL. The main problems include insufficient design accuracy, lack of unified standards, and disconnection from actual construction. Therefore, it is important to promot advanced construction and equipment to improve efficiency and quality. In order to improve efficiency and standardization of OTL design, a standardized design process and template should be established to make the design more standardized and systematic.
