In elementary, middle and high schools, school violence and crime are serious threats to the safety of students. In order to safeguard school space from school violence and crime, continuous inspection, environmental improvement, and continuous maintenance are essential. It is necessary to inspect schools and assess risks by teachers and staff members, who are members of the school, rather than by environmental assessments of irregular experts. To this end, the checklist for easy use in school sites needs to be composed of simple and easily understandable items, unlike those used in CPTED certification. Accordingly, in this study, the domestic and foreign CPTED evaluation indicators were synthesized to extract the selected factors as influence on student safety , frequency of related crimes , and ease of evaluators understanding of the state , resulting in school violence and crime. We wanted to develop a preventive factor checklist. The derived items were classified into five main categories: first impression, site boundary, indoor space, outdoor space, and operation and management. And it was classified as the first impression, fence, entrance, guard room, outside access control, play area, rest area, exercise facility, pedestrian way, parking space, bicycle storage, building entrance, lobby, corridor, stairs, elevator, toilet, classrooms, administrative rooms, library rooms, and changing rooms. Finally, a total of 79 inspection items were developed as a result.
