The theory of realism of China has emerged slowly since the May 4 New Culture Movement in 1919 and some theories having critical viewpoint played the decisive role in forming the socialist realistic art. Such realistic art theory influenced greatly on the art of China lagged behind and could become a good educational model for the younger students. Particularly, the period that Caiyuanpei, Lǔxun, and Xubĕiho ng had engaged was the period that the cons and pros on the Chinese traditional art and the realistic art around the drawing of the West were diverged. However, Lǔxun, and Xubĕihong who received the influence of Chae Won-Bae, who is deemed to be the advocator of realistic art focused on the strengths of the Western-style drawing education engaging as distinguished novelist written 'The Story of AhQ' and 'The Madman s Diary', respectively, the painter representing China, etc. and tried to revive the art culture of China linking with art education in the practical level. Focusing on such aspect, this study examined the realistic art theory focusing on Caiyuanpei, Lǔxun, and Xubĕihong, who were the representative theorist having great influence on the modern realistic art of China, and intended to find out the educational influence on the development and formation of Chinese art and characteristics. In addition, it intended to find out what form the realistic art theory grant new spirit of the ages to the art of China lagged behind at that time and brought educational effects. This would time to think about the indiscreet adoption of Western civilization during our modern period again.
