The reservedness, introversion and restraint contained in Zen aesthetics play an indispensable role in shaping the ethos of Korean and Chinese art. It can be said that the confucian aesthetics is the beginning and starting point of oriental aesthetics, and Zen aesthetics is the symbol of oriental aesthetics going to mature. Animation creation is often connected with the traditional culture of the country. South Korea and China, separated only by a narrow strip of water, have intricately interlinked cultures. Oseam won the top award in the feature film competition unit at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2004. Firstly, it discusses the aesthetic characteristics of Zen Buddhism in visual art expression. Secondly, the cultural value of Zen Buddhism reflected in the Korean and Chinese animations, and the analysis and study of the manifestations of Zen mood creation in animations, as well as the differences between South Korea and China in the manifestations of animation creation from the perspective of emptiness and enlightenment of Zen aesthetics and the audio-visual language by taking into account Oseam and Feelings of Mountains and Waters. Lastly, the certain significance of the carrier of animation to the realization of the inheritance and promotion of Zen culture, the exploration of the contemporary value of Oriental culture in the global discourse system, the reconstruction of the Oriental cultural discourse system, the enhancement of the cultural confidence of the nation, and the transition from traditional culture to modernity in the cultural and artistic creation and the construction of theories of literature and art in East Asia.
