We demonstrate passive mode locking of a Nd:KGd(WO 4 ) 2 laser diode-pumped at 910 nm. Semiconductor saturable absorber mirror was used to generate 2.4 ps pulses at a repetition rate of 83.8 MHz. An output power of 87 mW was obtained at 1067 nm.
