An editorial is presented which discusses the challenge of understanding effect sizes in research findings and introduces the concept of "common language effect sizes" (CLES) to enhance the interpretability of study results. The authors discuss how weather conditions and cognitive performance can influence understanding, and they illustrate how CLES offers a more intuitive description of effect sizes.
