This article examines the relationship between certain gene polymorphisms and the risk of developing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in the Chinese Han population. The study found that specific polymorphisms in the BTN3A1 gene may be associated with an increased risk of SLE. The authors suggest that these polymorphisms may interact with other variants to regulate gene expression and protein translation. Further research is needed to fully understand the impact of these polymorphisms on SLE.
